What are the main issues and activities Chum Creek Landcare members are interested in? The key land management issues landowners face, as well as those facing the entire Chum Creek area, are currently – weeds, pest animals (including rabbits and deer), and managing for/after fire. Maintenance of the Chum Creek waterway is also considered a key issue for the overall area. The main problems confronting landowners in managing their properties are lack of time and knowledge about weeds and weed control methods. Cost, particularly of fencing materials, is also an issue. People are most interested in plant identification, pest animal control, weed control, bird identification, and waterway management. |
